Influence of Oxidation Processing Temperature on the Structure, Mechanical and Tribological Properties of Titanium Using Carbon Sheets

Surface processing of pure titanium was performed using a carbon sheet to increase the surface hardness and improve tribological property. The effect temperature (750–950 °C) for 2 h on structure, mechanical room-temperature properties treated samples investigated X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, ball-on-disk tribometry, respectively. Gibbs free energy also calculated evaluate compounds generated at different temperatures. As result examination, hardened layer mainly composed oxide carbide. With increasing temperatures, thickness increased first then decreased gradually. It revealed that as increased. fricative value showed minimum 84.1 dB 850 °C. depth width wear tracks gradually with worn higher temperatures very good resistance. A °C is considered optimal it provides sufficiently high low coefficient friction reduce during practical use.
